Anna is ~18" in overall length and is made of porcelain including her arms, legs, and breastplate. Her face is an original sculpt the artist portrayed from a real child while she was napping in her cradle. Her precious hands and feet represent untold hours of work to carve since they are porcelain. Her blond silky human hair wig is meticulously hand-knotted by the artist. It can be combed and styled with ease. She has blue glass eyes. She has a cloth body.

Anna will come wearing either a white angora outfit completely hand done from hand-spun angora; OR a silk ensemble including a silk velvet cape, a silk dress, batiste undergarment, all of which are trimmed in hand-crocheted lace; OR a linen dress. She will also come with hand-knit silk or wool socks with hand-made calfskin leather shoes.

A note about the armature. The artist spent a great deal of time trying to balance the "cuddle" factor of the baby doll's body with poseability. The baby doll is able to hold up her arms and sit without propping but still cradle in the collector's arms. This was accomplished by using the ratio of soft body parts and pellets with a custom engineering armature that allows for full rotation of the limbs and the neck socket. Several joint pieces were custom machined by an engineer to get this affect. The doll can be seated upright or posed in a reclining position with the most natural effect.

A note about the firings. The firings are extensive. They start with a cream colored porcelain and must gradually work up to the skin tones in numerous washes. It takes up to 18 firings to get the level of detail in the lips, eyelashes, eyebrows and nuances of flesh tones plus to create that subtle bluish/lavender hue on the eyelids.
